Brandi

Brandi's mom in "boy mom" t-shirtBrandi loves being a “boy mom.” She loves to fish, run around and play outside with her three boys. So, when she started feeling more tired than normal, she figured it was just that.

One day, after walking from her car to the kitchen, Brandi passed out from exhaustion. The next morning, she dropped her kids off at school and went immediately to the ER, where doctors ordered a bone marrow biopsy. Shortly after, Brandi was diagnosed with mixed phenotype acute leukemia at only 27 years old.

Since her diagnosis, Brandi has been through five rounds of chemotherapy, six biopsies and many blood transfusions. She’s spent months apart from her family and was re-hospitalized twice from different treatment side effects: “chemo tongue” and mucositis. Through it all, she’s found hope in her supporters—especially her husband, Justin—and even chose to donate her hair to a child with cancer.

Because Brandi needs a perfectly matched donor, her best chances come from individuals who share her Latina and Caucasian background. Unfortunately, there is a lack of mixed race donors on the registry. Join today and change her odds. You could be the cure she needs.
